Wedding Centerpiece Ideas

Because wedding events are often considered to be the most significant event in a person’s lifetime, it is important to make it more special and more memorable. This can be achieved by meticulously planning and preparing well for the occasion. Aside from the bridal gown and other wedding attire, wedding theme, wedding cake, and floral decorations, it is also important to appropriately choose the right centerpiece during the wedding reception. The wedding centerpiece is among the few things that wedding guests will remember during your wedding day.

Most brides prefer a floral centerpiece. This creates a more natural yet special and elegant look. Anemones are the most popular flower used as floral decorations for the centerpiece during the wedding reception. Anemones do not have a scent compared to other flowers and they come in a variety of beautiful shades. The most popular kind of these flowers used by brides are those which come in white and have a black shade on the center portion of the flower. These flowers create a modernized and elegant look. Others may also choose to have gerbera daisies that are cream in color with dark centers.

Another wedding centerpiece idea is to combine various designs and styles. Gaining more popularity is to design wedding centerpiece by mixing it up. Instead of using the same color, height and design of flowers, couples may choose to make it more unique by arranging the centerpieces with flowers of different shades, height and kind. This creates a more sophisticated look. Wedding guests are more likely to appreciate this unique wedding centerpiece. However, this may be more expensive compared to plain floral centerpieces.

Over the years, wedding centerpiece has been filled with roses and other traditional flowers like
Phalaenopsis orchids. But recently more and more brides prefer the use of Mokara orchids. These flowers come in shades of pink and orange. Mokara orchids have been popular nowadays since it has a full bloom of flowers all over its stalk. Another reason which makes it more famous is the fact that fewer flowers are needed to create an elegant look, which allows the couple to save more from spending for a wedding centerpiece.

Wedding reception centerpieces are more striking when used with brightly colored table linens and napkins. It is usually thought that flowers which have brighter shades can stand alone with white backgrounds. However, pairing these brightly colored floral arrangements with other centerpiece ideas that also come in bright shades can create a bolder, more elegant and more sophisticated look. This wedding centerpiece will more likely catch the attention of the wedding guests. Other wedding centerpiece ideas involve the use of standout vases, candles, lamps, and through the use of arrangements that come in natural shapes.
